It’s so important to allow your heart to dance. There’s the cliche give and take, the protect-yourself/disaffected theory, the open-heart-all-the-time method… and they work for some people.

But life and love is a dance… a balance.

You have to feel which way your partner is going and compliment it; you have to know when and how to lead. You have to feel the energy from the crowd around you; you have to have your own personal style (in case they decide to make a circle around you and shout “Go Lauren! Go Lauren! Go, go, go Lauren!” haha).

And I’m not the greatest “dancer”. At all. I’m still learning to dance with my mother… my father… I forgot how to dance with my brother. I’m learning to dance with complete strangers. I dance with my grampa. I dance with my closest and dearest friends. Sometimes I’m off beat… sometimes I set the beat.

But it’s always a dance… a balance.
